Don't Wait For Tomorrow

It was September 2018, and my wife and I’s second anniversary was quickly approaching.

We got married in September 2016, our son was born in September 2017, and here we were after a whirlwind of life changes.

A 30-year-old married couple with a one-year-old in Hoboken, NJ.

My younger brother came into town for my son’s first birthday, so he and I sat on the couch watching the Tonight Show and having some drinks and some laughs while my wife and the baby slept in the other room.

I was racking my head for what to get my wife when the Tonight Show musical guest started playing.

It was Carrie Underwood.

The lightbulb went off in my head.

Maybe Carrie Underwood was touring. My wife loved her.

Once she stopped playing, Carrie sat next to Jimmy Fallon and started talking about her upcoming tour.

Bingo! I had found the perfect gift.

I pulled out my phone and Googled “Carrie Underwood NYC.”

She was playing the next month on October 2nd!

This couldn’t be any more perfect.

Despite being a little tipsy, I found two seats, entered my credit card information, and bought the tickets.

Carrie Underwood, here we come!
